On Friday 1 April 2022, the new OFGEM energy price cap comes into force. This means much higher energy rates for millions of people. It's incredibily important; therefore, suppliers are not given the opportunity to charge energy units used at the old rates before 1 April 2022, at the new higher price cap rates after 1 April 2022.
It is vitually important, therfore, that you take gas and electricity meter readings on 31 March 2022. This is regardless of what meter you have and, ideally, should be both the readings and meter serial number.
